As a result of excavations launched in 1906 at the Hittite capital of Hattusa, thousands of cuneiform tablets and tablet fragments have been unearthed to this day. With Bedrich Hrozny’s decipherment of the Hittite language in 1915, philological studies on Hittite texts – the oldest known Indo-European language – gained significant momentum; starting in 1921, the tablets that had been recovered began to be published systematically. At present, approximately 95% of the Boğazköy tablet corpus has been published; however, studies aimed at both re-evaluating previously published texts and examining newly discovered documents continue uninterrupted to this day.
This volume contains copies (drawings) and photographs of a total of 34 cuneiform tablet fragments of Boğazköy-Hattuša origin, currently preserved in the museums of Çorum and İzmir, along with philological and content-based evaluations of these fragments. Primarily aimed at cuneiform specialists and researchers working on Hittite history, this study contributes new material to the ongoing scholarly debates regarding the Boğazköy archive and helps expand the framework for interpreting the texts.
